Use one ATA for an entire house
Just like you can have multiple phones around your house, you can use a single Analog Telephone Adapter to provide connectivity to many phones at the same time.
This can be done in one of two ways:
Creating new phone jacks that are wired together
Feed the ATA signal back into your house

In the example above we are simulating a house with a DSL internet connection. Regularly you would connect your modem to a phone line and then attach filters to any phones you want to use around the house. To back-feed the ATA signal in this method you can follow the guide line below:
1. Disconnect the incoming phone line
To prevent any back-feeding problems we will first need to isolate the incoming service from the rest of the house. In most installations, there is a service line that enters the house (usually in the basement) and then connects to another line or a splitter that connects to the rest of your house. You are looking for a phone line that connects to a jack as soon as the service enters the building that you will need to unplug to separate both services.
If you have an older house or cannot find this connection, or if you found the connection but it's a bunch of wires twisted together, you will need cut the incoming wire and crimp a male phone line terminal onto the incoming service line, and crimp a female jack onto the line that leads to the rest of your house.
If you are not comfortable making this connection we encourage you to contact us so that we can check if we have any service technicians in your area that can make the connection for you, or we recommend that you contact your own certified technician to do this for you.
2. Make sure your internet is connected
If you have Fiber Optic internet, or Coaxial Cable internet, Wireless or Satellite internet then you would not be affected by the disconnection done in step 1.
If you have DSL, ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, ISDN, Dial Up, or any other internet connection that operates over phone lines, you will need to relocate your modem so that it's connected directly to your incoming service line.
3. Connect the ATA to the internet
Once you have internet connectivity you can proceed to plugin your ATA into your modem, router, or switch, and then plug the ATA into a power source.
4. Connect the ATA line to your house
You will now take a phone line cord and connect an active line on the ATA to the remainder of your house.
